Hi, I’m Allison, the Midwest mom behind the blog. I grew up in small Wisconsin town on a farm with a variety of animals. I participated in 4-H from a young age which resulted in a love for cooking and baking. Through 4-H I explored other hobbies like woodworking, basket weaving, painting ceramics, sewing, showing animals (picture me carrying a fainting goat who fainted from the attention around a show ring), and more. I enjoyed my upbringing and was raised Catholic, a faith I still practice today. I married my best friend in 2019 and we have two children, both under 5 years old.
Since we met, my husband and I have enjoyed traveling the US and have traveled to a few countries in Europe. We love incorporating nature into our travels, and enjoy trying new foods, relaxing, and learning about different history and cultures. Since growing our family, we have continued to travel, bringing our kids along on most trips. We have loved traveling with them, but it takes a lot of extra planning for sure! While we love to visit new places and try new things, there truly is no place like home. We live in the cutest Wisconsin town and enjoy soaking up all the things it has to offer. Hence the name of this blog, Wander then Return.
Here you’ll find tips and experiences from our travels both near and far (with and without kids) as well as things that make my everyday life easier as a full-time working mom. Thanks for wandering onto this blog, I hope it helps or inspires you. Please return again soon!
